PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The Ronin Lifters were built for one thing: getting you into a better squat position. A 20mm heel elevation compensates for limited ankle dorsiflexion, so you can hit depth and stay upright without fighting your own mobility. Wide E toe box. Novus 2.0™ Griptech outsole. IPF and USAPL approved.

  • 20mm Heel Elevation — Compensates for limited ankle dorsiflexion, helping you hit depth and maintain an upright torso under load.
  • Wide E Toe Box — Gives your toes room to splay and engage naturally without excessive movement — stability without restriction.
  • Novus 2.0™ Griptech — Proprietary rubber compound formulated for maximum traction on competition platforms and gym floors.
  • Non-Compressible Insole — Zero energy loss under load. Neutral arch profile for natural foot positioning.
  • Wider Sole Base — Extended sole edges improve lateral stability during heavy squats and pressing movements.
  • Reinforced Heel Counter — Locks the heel in place to prevent any rearward slip under load.
  • Breathable Mesh Upper — Lightweight ventilated upper that moves with your foot without sacrificing structure.

Best For — Powerlifting (squat & bench) · Strongman (log press, overhead events) · Any lifter with limited ankle dorsiflexion

SIZING RECOMMENDATIONS

Ronin Lifters runs slightly small. If you own other Notorious Lift footwear, we recommend ordering 1 EU size larger than your slipper size. (For example, EU 42 in slippers, order EU 43 in Ronin Lifters).

If ordering with us for the first time, size up by 1/2 US size from your normal shoe size.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Hand Wash: Soak in a mixture of cold water and liquid laundry detergent. Use a soft bristle toothbrush to scrub the upper, then the sole. Once clean, rinse and air dry.

Do not tumble dry.

Ronin Lifters - Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Ronin Lifters run slightly small. We recommend sizing up by 1 EU size compared to your Notorious Lift slipper size, or 1/2 US size up from your normal athletic shoe size. For example, if you wear EU 42 in our slippers, order EU 43 in Ronin Lifters.

Ronin Lifters feature a 20mm heel‑to‑toe drop (approximately 0.8 inches). This height is optimized for powerlifting squats—it improves ankle dorsiflexion, helps maintain an upright torso, and allows for greater depth without compromising stability

Yes. Ronin Lifters are approved for use in all global Powerlifting and Strongman federations, including the IPF (International Powerlifting Federation), USAPL, USPA, Powerlifting America, CPU, Strongman Corporation, and the World Raw Powerlifting Federation. They meet all footwear requirements for equipped and raw divisions.

Ronin Lifters are designed primarily for squats, bench, and exercises such as overhead presses or olympic movements where a heeled shoe provides a mechanical advantage. For deadlifts, we recommend a flat‑soled shoe like Radix Pro or Sumo Sole Gen 5 for better ground contact and lower heel height.

Ronin Lifters have a precision‑engineered wide toe box that allows natural toe splay without excessive lateral movement. It’s wider than traditional heeled squat shoes (like Adidas Adipower or Nike Romaleos) but maintains enough sidewall support for stability during heavy lifts.

Novus 2.0™ Griptech is a proprietary rubber compound developed for maximum traction on all surfaces—wood platforms, rubber flooring, even concrete. It’s 30% grippier than standard rubber and retains its stickiness across temperature ranges.

While Ronin Lifters excel in stable, heavy lifts, they are not ideal for box jumps, running, or dynamic CrossFit movements due to the 20mm heel. For versatile training that includes lifting and conditioning, consider Radix Pro—our premium barefoot‑style shoe.

Hand wash only. Soak in cold water with a small amount of liquid laundry detergent, scrub gently with a soft‑bristle toothbrush (upper first, then sole), rinse thoroughly, and air‑dry away from direct heat. **Do not machine wash or tumble dry.

Yes. The wide toe box and adjustable dual‑strap closure accommodate moderate to wide foot shapes. If you have exceptionally wide feet, consider sizing up an additional half‑size for comfort across the metatarsal region.

With proper care, Ronin Lifters maintain structural integrity for 2‑4 years of regular training (2-3 sessions per week). The Novus 2.0 outsole and reinforced heel counter are designed to withstand heavy loading without premature breakdown.

Absolutely LOVE Them!

Amazing!! First day wearing them, I hit huge PRs on three different lifts! They’re super comfortable, and the toe box definitely has more room for wider feet. I originally ordered my usual size, but had to exchange for one size up since they run a little small. But I LOVE THEM!

Wide toe box = squat PRs

I was a little worried about sizing up and although they seem a little loose in the back form sizing up, my pinky toes are LOVING the freedom. If I was walking/running in them the little looseness would definitely bug me, but I’m stationary and the wide toe box has been a game changer for my form!

Good looking lifting shoe - nice wide toe box

I need the wide toe box because of bunions. These shoes are very comfortable and are of great quality! I did have only one complaint. The heel of one had some yellow on it (like of a highlighter). I kept the shoes regardless. Before wearing I sent an email to their support email and yet to hear back. Wish their customer service was a bit more timely. It did take awhile from time I ordered till receiving the shoes.

60 year old powerlifter loves his Ronins!

I have worn the Ronin Lifters for one month and love them. Super supportive and the wide toe box is great for my bunions. The grip on the sole is awesome and helps me create maximum tension and leg drive while benching.

Order was processed and shipped promptly.
Shoes are my 3rd pair and they fit perfectly right out of the box. I use US 9.5 for the Sumos and have to use US10.5 for the Ronin.

Top notch

Notorious Lift has good customer service, and high quality products.
When I tried the Ronin lifters on, they felt amazing and the grip is stellar. My first squat session with them I hit a triple PR at 512lbs. Now they’re my go to for squats and bench.
I purchased the black and gold, but they appear more yellow on the site (my favorite color). But that’s a small thing when big PR’s are coming!

Solid shoe

I was incredibly excited to find these because I am someone who made the switch to barefoot minimal shoes and cannot go back to the traditional, narrow toe box style of shoe. While I love that minimal shoes fixed all of my pains, aches, and improved my overall stability and posture, I have two main struggles: 1) ankle dorsiflexion, and 2) let’s be real, up until recently most minimal/anatomical shoes look kind of…hideous and range dramatically in price.

Sometimes, the prices are incredibly steep, and if you aren’t sure if you’ll be able to go back to or stick to using to a traditional lifter for what might have become a more niche purpose in your training, deciding if you want to spend 200+ on the TYR sport or another shoe can be conflicting. Trying a shoe on is only one part of knowing if the shoe will work. You really have to spend some time wearing it to know how it’s performance relates to your personal anatomy and the types of movements you will put it through.

If you’re like me, you might have missed a few things about lifters: the potential to bias the quads in a movement, providing a more upright torso, and especially, the lockdown and grip they provide. I think this shoe fits those needs perfectly and is more than reasonably priced for what you are getting. And they look awesome.

They are solid and have incredibly grip. For traditional barbell squats these were stable and I felt completely locked in. For Olympic weightlifting movements I would recommend giving yourself an adjustment period. If you are coming back from very light, zero drop and/or minimal shoes, these will feel strange at first. Depending on where the ball of your foot sits inside the shoe, your ability to drive and hit triple extension at the top of an Oly lift might be thrown off the first few workouts. You will feel more pushed forward, which is normal, but this can feel a bit more dramatic if coming from a very flat minimal shoe. And these will feel heavy. These are by no means the heaviest lifters, but it will take some recalibrating, so give yourself a grace period to feel those dynamics out. The first time I wore these I felt like I lost a lot of power in Oly movements. That said I greatly enjoyed being able to more comfortably sit at the bottom position and stay more upright on the catch.

For sizing, I initially tried the recommended EU43, but ultimately went up to a EU44. The exchange process was easy and smooth. I’m going to include my sizing in a few other brands in case it might help someone else:

Xero (Wynn): EU 40.5/US W 10
Feelgrounds (all models): EU 41/ US W 10/ US M 8
Vivo Barefoot (all models): EU 41/US W 10
Altra (all models): EU 42.5/US M 9

Love my Ronin Lifters

Love my Ronin Lifters. I bought the white and black and they look very cool I am new to powerlifting and had to get used to the heel while doing my squats. But it did not take long. They are comfortable and I feel it helped with my depth. It also helped me with the leg drive while doing my bench. I was able to hit a new bench PR the first time I wore them! As stated in the description they do run small so I suggest going up a half a size which was perfect for me. Highly recommend!

Great pair of lifters but they do run small

Great pair of lifters but they do run small. I had to move from sz 42 to 44 rather than 43 as recommended as it was still quite snug.

Ronin Lifter: Best bang for your buck!

3 weeks into wearing these shoes and they helped out my squat so much. Break-in time was short due to a mesh toe box, very wide which is perfect for a widefooter like myself, and the price point being 150 is such a good deal! Recommend going up a size! I wear a 42, and I got a 43. First perfect for me

I’ll never go back to any other shoe

I’ve always bought crappy Amazon lifters. If you’re on the fence, these are worth every penny. The heel has helped me get a deeper squat since narrowing my stance. And the grip is simply unmatched. These shoes are my new babies and I can’t wait to get some deadlift shoes from them as well!

Great shoes

The heel on these shoes are very sturdy and they are very solid. Works great for squatting and the toe box is wide, which a lot of lifting shoes don’t offer.
